Our first mix since the never-ending Winter of 2018 comes from Bristol-based record label, Extrapolation.
With a regular slot on Leeds’ KMAH radio, an instalment on the exceptional 12th Isle Forecast, and a brilliant 4-track release from Brandon Vare last year, Extrapolation, aka Zander Mavor, is carrying the torch for a long line of Bristol-based DIY projects focussed on leftfield electronic music.
Typical of his previous outlets, the PEPMIX is a strange and introspective hour of wonky bleeps and off-kilter percussion, seamlessly mixed into a real slow-burner which is as groovy as it is unconventional. As the beast from the east bows its ugly head away from old Blighty, Zander’s mix allows a moment of reflection on the quiet optimism of an almost-warm British spring.
